About "Process Of Elimination"

At one time or another, we all look for resolution, some cure or remedy. A method of problem solving exists which involves removing all options that may be impossible or illogical to find as the solution. Process of Elimination is the title and inspiration behind Cervello Elettronico's new release on Rustblade. Each song on the album demonstrates alienation and chaos in a way which reveals the obvious end of a musical journey. From hard rhythmic experimental beats to pulsating electro EBM bass lines, this latest effort displays a new polished sound for the project while keeping it's unique raw harsh sound. Clever sampling and sound design showcase Cervello Elettronico's particular type of intelligent dance music. This definitely establishes a different sound in it's own genre by pushing boundaries. At the same time Process of Elimination pays tribute to old school techno and industrial pioneers through careful execution and sometimes a hint of satire. These 14 tracks include guest vocals from Karloz M of Manufactura, Uberbyte's Richard Pyne, and Ben Arp from American industrial dance act C/A/T. It also features European exclusive remixes from French break beat artist Zeller and EBM Industrial act Aesthetic Perfection.

Album Reviews and Press:

From Side Line
After several self-releases David Christian aka Snarf took the electro community by surprise in 2007 with his official debut album "Negate The Instigator". Cervello Elettronico revealed a refined and intelligent electronic sound with an original approach. This album released on CrunchPod was a pure class-act for all lovers of minimal and technoid electronics. "Process Of Elimination" is the newest album of David Christian and even if I didn't get a similar effect of surprise it remains a fabulous piece of music. I really appreciate that the artist tries to naturally evolve with his music this way avoiding to emulate his great debut release. "Process Of Elimination" sounds harder and I dare to say more industrial-like although you can hear EBM, electro ambient and vague technoid influences as well. The writing is sometimes moving into complexity, but never falls into chaos. The title song opens this opus and is a cool piece of electronics showing all the progression and evolution from Cervello Elettronico. The 3 songs that come next (cf. "Stimulant", "Player" and "Violent Skin") are one by one terrific electronic cuts revealing efficient sequences, cool bleeps, invasive and sometimes obscure ambient atmospheres, EBM elements and a danceable rhythmic. There's no real need for a vocalist although some guest singers like Karloz M (Manufactura), Richard Pyne (Uberbyte) and Ben Arp (C/A/T) were invited to each sing one song. The vocals were produced in way it all sounds more like an extra vocal input instead of a real singer. "Automation And Dissent " with R. Pyne as guest vocalist is a sublime song. Electronics and industrial are meeting each other with superb sound sculptures and the whispering, distorted vocals on top. This is for sure one of the greatest tracks from the album! Two more great experiences are "Polarity" for its analogue sweeps and devastating bass tone and "Demonize" is another attention grabber where the sounds are pure hallucinogenic experience. This song is a bit more into experiment, but remains totally Cervello Elettronico-like. Some vocals have been added here as well, but they are clearly meant as an extra effect to give more diversity to the music. The album was first released by CrunchPod in the USA while this European version released by Rustblade features two extra songs (remixes) at the end of the ride. We get an interesting remix of "Automation And Dissent" by Zeller and a more EBM remix of "Polarity" by Aesthetic Perfection. No doubt about it, Cervello Elettronico is pure electronic intelligence!

Gothronic
Cervello Elettronico is the music project by David Christian, with which he creates very melodic and techno influenced electro-industrial. This is his second release on a proper label. This album is actually out on two labels in slight different versions. One on Crunch Pod, which also released his first album ‘Negate the Instigator’, and on Rustblade. The version by Rustblade has 3 more tracks than the Crunch Pod version. The album starts of nicely with the title track ‘Process of Elimination’, which makes use of nice processed speech samples, melodies and techno rhythms. ‘Stimulant’ seems very influenced by Kraftwerk in it’s use of rhythms and vocoded samples. Very atmospheric melodies make an excellent song from this, very suitable for in the clubs when dj’s are tired of playing terror-EBM. ‘Player’ has a groovy and bleepy sound to it, which works nicely. ‘Polarity’ is an excellent song featuring the vocals of Karloz from Manufactura. The song is very slow, menacing and atmospheric. A definite highlight! ‘Septic Shock’ heads more towards rhythmic noise. ‘Demonize’ is again a very atmospheric track, very much techno influenced, with excellent use of synth hooks! ‘Automation and Dissent’ is again more aggressive with the vocals of Richard Pyne, and the song is a stomping combination of terror-EBM and powernoise. The Rustblade continues with 3 more song. ‘Dead Time’ is a nice track with some aggressive vocal touches. It’s a slow song, but has a very menacing feel to it. The album ends with two nice remixes from Zeller and Aesthetic Perfection.‘Process of Elimination’ is again a very good release from Cervello Elettronico! This is a combination of very atmospheric and techno influenced electro-industrial, with pinches of harder EBM and powernoise.
