Nekromantik (1987), directed by Jörg Buttgereit, is a cult film of European underground horror, long censored for its extreme content. The story follows Robert, a cleaner who works for the police, and his partner Betty, bound together by a deviant relationship and a growing obsession with death. When Robert brings home a corpse stolen from his workplace, the fragile balance of the couple shatters, dragging them into a spiral of alienation and self-destruction. Shot on Super 8, it is a radical work that explores the link between eros and death, establishing itself as a manifesto of the most transgressive horror of the 1980s. Finally available in the first complete Italian edition, restored in HD and curated by Rustblade.
